Game Summary
For the second week in a row, Will Harris finished off a back and forth contest with with points in the last minute. This week, his basket with less than a second left gave the Ballers a 67-66 victory. The Ballers were up 65-64 with 14.3 seconds left and inbounding at half court expecting to be fouled. However, the inbound pass was tipped away and led to a layup for Team Chaos and their first lead since midway through the first half. Green Dot was out of timeouts and surged up the court where Kyle Welty found Harris at the rim for the score and a foul with 0.7 seconds left to win the game.
Headlines
Welty winning plays - Kyle Welty did a little bit of everything as he led the team with 24 points and tied for team lead with 5 assists. The last one went to Harris on a fast break scramble after Team Chaos had scored the go ahead basket with less than 10 seconds to play.
Three Headed Monster - For the second week in a row, the Ballers featured a balanced scoring attack with Welty (24), DaMar Hall (18) and Harris (17) combining for 59 points of the 67 points. Last week the trio delivered 46 of the 64 points.
Ice Cold Start - GDB opened with a brutal stretch of offense falling into a 12-2 hole in the first 7 minutes. During that time, the Ballers missed 8 of their 9 shots, two free throws and turned the ball over 4 times.
Red Hot response - A Welty pull up 3 seemed to shake Green Dot out of their doldrums and started an 18-3 run, during which 4 different Ballers scored while hitting on 7 of 11 shots. That gave GDB their first lead of the game at 24-21
Turning Point
CHAOS in the last minute - Green Dot tried to slow down the game and hold on for the win, but nearly ended up giving the game away. A Welty jumper with 1:28 left seemed to give the Ballers the cushion it needed at 65-61, but Team Chaos answered with a 3-pointer to cut the lead to one. They had only been whistled for two fouls and GDB ran a minute off the clock while awaiting the bonus, but they never got there as a lazy pass led to a turnover with 25 seconds left. Two missed free throws by Team Chaos seemed to let the Ballers off the hook, but yet another turnover on a subsequent inbounds gave a quickstrike layup and a lead to Team Chaos, and setup the buzzer beating heroics from Harris.

Co-MVPs this week - Welty and Harris - Welty was in the middle of everything for the Ballers and Harris continued to control the paint on both ends and hit the game winner for the second week in a row
