Game Summary

Green Dot Ballers used another late first half run to take control of the game. This week the Ballers used a 17-5 run to break the game open. A tight affair over the first 10 minutes found the score knotted at 15. A barrage of three pointers, both the traditional way and from outside, combined with a high intensity defense to create turnovers gave GDB a 32-20 lead at the break. Self Check never really threatened as the Baller defense put the clamps on any potential comeback in the 65-39 win.

Ryan Demagistris (#20) finishes off his big night with the AND ONE!

Headlines

DEE-FENSE!! Green Dot Ballers have shown a stout defense over the first two weeks of the season, holding both teams under 40 points. The formula for a successful defense has included:

1) Proactive communication between the backline and frontline

2) Size in across the base of the defense that has limited teams to one shot in many cases

3) Active and aggressive guards up top harassing ball handlers and running shooters off their shots.

This defense will be put to the test next week against a Joy Boys team that sends out multiple three point shooters and hung 78 points in their first game.

A cavalcade of 3s! - The Green Dot squad came out firing in the first half. The barrage of threes saw 7 or 8 Ballers knock one down from outside. Shooting percentages did not hold up in the second half, but the damage had already been done as the Ballers rode that shooting exhibition to a 12 point halftime lead that would never be threatened.

MVP

Ryan Demagistris - After being the only Baller not to register a point last week, Green Dot's resident X-factor vowed to redeem himself in week two and did he ever. Dmag scored inside and out, made plays all over the court and led the team in scoring as they cruised to the victory.
