GDB offensive clinic runs win streak to 3

Summary

The Green Dot Ballers fashioned a record setting assist mark in one of the most efficient offensive performances in franchise history. GDB posted assists on all but the final basket of the game (26 field goals on 25 assists), shot 55% from the field, 45% from 3 and 83% from the free throw line. The only thing that kept them from setting another scoring mark was a slow start from the field (4-12) That slow start was followed by an eruption as Reamy's 3s led the Ballers on a 10 minutes 25-4 rampage that sent them to the half with a 43-24 lead. Mike Reamy led 4 players in double figures as the Ballers set themselves up for another showdown with Joy Boys next week.

Too late! Self Check defense too slow as Mike Reamy (#10) hits one of his six threes on the night.

Headlines

Offense keeps humming For the third consecutive week the Green Dot crew posted a 40 point half. Considering that the Ballers have averaged 55 points A GAME in winter league play over the years, dropping 40 spots is doin some work!! That production will be put to the test against a Joy Boy team that held GDB to a season low 51 points in week 3.

Festival of sharing The Green Dot Ballers put on a display of ball movement rarely seen in their history. The 25 assists marked the second most in recorded franchise history to a 27 helper performance in summer of 2018 vs Bullets. What made this performance even more incredible was the 96% assist rate!! That is right, just one field goal was made without a direct assist. It didn't come until the third to last basket with just a couple of minutes left in the game. The passing, cutting and shot making was on display throughout this contest highlighted by the starting backcourt of Larson and Wade handing out a combined bakers dozen.

So many assists that Tony finally even made some!! haha The latest Baller on the scene has been leading Rookie of the Year candidate Tony Wroblicky. While the baller pivotman has done an outstanding job patrolling the paint, scoring efficiently (11 ppg) and providing rim protection, he had gone without an assist in his first four games with the team. He broke out in a big way this game with his GDB career high of 5 assists!

MVP

Mike Reamy - Green Dot's resident sniper is back baby!! After working back from a shoulder injury that happened during last summer's playoff semifinal thriller, Mike was finally feeling good after a bye week. Boy did he ever show off the stroke in this game!! Six threes in the game and just overwhelmed Self Check with an array of left side splashes in the first half to lead the Ballers to the insurmountable lead.

Up Next

Bye week and then 3/21 vs Joy Boys - Time to get ready for the playoffs. Face off with the Joy boys who won 63-51 in the first matchup in week 3
