Game Summary

First game of winter is always an exercise in who can knock off rust the fastest. Both teams struggled from the field and every time Green Dot tried to break away, Self Check would stem the bleeding with a run. After exchanging the lead a couple of times in the second half, GDB pushed out far enough to secure the win to kick off the season with the 58-53 victory.

Headlines

One-two punch - On a night where multiple Ballers were not able to make the game, the dynamic duo of Cam Wade and Mike Reamy stepped up to carry the scoring load, combining for 42 of the 58 GDB points.

Board man gets boards - Charlie Jones picked up the slack for missing Green Dot Big men, flying around the court to secure rebounds on both ends, play some paint clogging D and still score and assist in the win.

Nine, Nowitski, Nine!!! - The victory by Green Dot over Self Check is the 9th in a row in the series. The last win for Self Check over GDB was Summer of 2019. That was the third time in four meetings Self Check emerged victorious, but remains the last time they held the edge.

MVP

CAM MF WADE - The third year star for the Ballers came out firing and didn't stop until he registered a career high 28 points. He did it inside, outside and even found time to hand out three assists.

Light the Beam GDB Style - I guess we start a new tradition in the spirit of the Sacramento Kings victory beam. LET'S GET IT!!!!

Up Next
