Summary
GDB seemed ready to cruise to a win over the lowly Trogs, but had to withstand a Splash Brothers level barrage of threes to preserve the 69-61 win. After a back and forth first 8 minutes found them down 9-7 the GDB crew put its trademark depth to work and recieved baskets from everyone in a dominating stretch of basketball. Going on a 40-15 run to take a commanding 23 point lead a couple of minutes into the second half. However the Trogs answered with 11 three pointers in the second half to eventually cut the lead to three, but a Yoon Ji jumper combined with good free throw shooting delivered the 69-61 victory.

What the H3LL was that?!?!?!?! A week after registering their franchise record for scoring at 84 points, a 44 point first half combined with a 20 point lead, had the Ballers dreaming of cruising to another high water mark. The Trogs had other plans. The boys in purple cashed in triples on NINE consecutive second half possessions!!! By the time they got done they had cut the lead down to 3 points and set up some tense moments near the end. Banked 3s, face guarded 3s, it didn't matter, the Trogs ended up with 11 3s in the second half, but came up just short.
Big shot Yoon He might not have had the biggest scoring night in a balanced Baller attack, but he came up with the biggest shot of the night. With the Trogs smelling an upset having cut a 23 point lead down to three, Ji found the ball swung to him with two minutes left and rose up for a 19 footer and calmly swished it. The timely basket pushed the Baller lead up to two possessions and they hit their free throws to close it out.
Composure still a work in progress The Green Dot Ballers are still struggling with composure during games. This week it resulted in an ejection of GDB's resident X-factor Ryan Demagistris. The Ballers need to find the fortitude that has served them so well in many City of Alexandria battles over the years as they have key rivals ready to supplant them this year.
MVP
Tony Wroblicky - The man in the middle controlled the paint on both ends. Led the team in points, provided timely scoring, rebounding and rim protection, along with some final free throw shooting to help stave off the comeback attempt.
